Sansa, The Hound, and Tyrion – Season 2

Much has been made of the television show’s depiction of the interactions between Sansa and Sandor “The Hound” Clegane. While it is true that The Hound saves Sansa from the horde of King’s Landing rioters and even offers to spirit Sansa away from the capital city during the Battle of the Blackwater, it should also be remembered that The Hound was not always a “good guy”—remember how he killed Mycah, the butcher’s boy?

In this deleted scene from season two, we get a reminder of The Hound’s brutal nature before he was rehabilitated by his time spent with Arya. He confronts Sansa in a corridor of the palace and grabs her roughly by the arm, demanding she sing him a song. Instead of wilting, Sansa actually begins to stand up to The Hound, before Tyrion shows up and shows kindness to his future wife by sending Clegane off to “find a tree to piss on.”
